Published Books

I have published two books so far — one is political nonfiction and the other is a novel. Fiction is my true passion, but because of the times we live in, God compelled me to write a book about the Tea Party from a Christian perspective. It is actually what led to the creation of Tea Party for Christians and goes deeper on many of the same issues I discuss on this site. While that one would be categorized as “political,” my fiction isn’t. I aim merely to write powerful stories about strong characters that offer thrilling and thought-provoking reads. I plan to add many more titles to this list in the coming years, but for now I encourage you to read these two books.

Numerous books have been written about the Tea Party since its surprising explosion onto the political scene, but few, if any, have been written from a Christian perspective, despite many Christians being active in the movement. In SAVING AMERICA, author Jonathan Wakefield, a Tea Party leader and an ordinary citizen with virtually no political engagement before 2009, examines the powerful movement with an insider’s perspective and from a biblical context. He explains why he felt compelled to finally get active in helping shape his nation’s future, making the case that the Tea Party’s core principles align with Scripture and represent America’s best hope for surviving its current crises, caused by both political parties expanding governmental power, and ultimately thriving again. Written for both Tea Party supporters and skeptics, as well religious and non-religious individuals, SAVING AMERICA will challenge all readers to think through their basic assumptions and beliefs and consider their roles as American citizens at this critical time in world history.

Saving America highlights how both parties have grown government to a very dangerous size, why people of faith must work to shrink it as quickly as possible, and how to do it. Every Christian should read this book, regardless of their political or theological beliefs.” ~Doug Wead, Historian and New York Times bestselling author

“Jonathan Wakefield, a happy warrior for truth and freedom, penned a rare book–one of the few I’ve read in the last several years that I actually wanted to finish. Not being a Tea Party member, I was enlightened and encouraged by the Biblical underpinnings of the Tea Party. Jonathan’s winsome, transparent, non-confrontational yet compelling style makes the pages of this book fly by. I encourage everyone who has a heart for America to read it and heed it.” ~Alice Patterson, author, Bridging the Racial and Political Divide
